Introvert Life | Love you, but…

Today’s words are inspired by…motherhood.

If you don’t already know, I am a work-from-home mama to a precocious toddler dude. He can be ridiculously funny and astonishingly smart, which makes me love my time with him. However, being with him for most of my waking hours can be a challenge.

My husband is great about getting him out of my hair when I need to buckle down and get stuff done. But if they just hang around the house, it feels like…

Well, let me put it in work-outside-the-home terms:

It’s like, being on a really long break…in the break room. You can do what you want, but ya can’t totally escape the environment of your workplace. For example, my kid pulling on me, whining about something, or trying to climb in my lap and pound at my computer.

So as much as I adore him, it’s necessary for my allover health to have periods of solitude away from him. It enables me to do the creative work that I love, and I appreciate our days together even more.

Holla at me if you can relate, Mama!
