Weird loners need fun stuff too.
My name is Rachel Ignatiev and I am the lady behind Low Star Studio.
I design quirky, light-hearted lifestyle products for well-humored, reclusive folk. If you often express the sentiment “I’d rather not be around people right now” then you have landed in the right place.
Here you will find captivating designs inspired by my lifelong experience as a complex, introverted humanoid. Bold, playful and clever typography, influenced by the muted or gaudy art of past decades comprise most of my designs. I aim to make each one relatable, without over-emphasizing the negative stereotypes associated with being an introvert/homebody/chronic Netflix watcher/boring person. I wouldn’t want anyone thinking I’m exceptionally pathetic. At best, I’m mildly pathetic.
You see, ever since I was a wee little girl, I would relish the opportunity to go to my room, shut the door, and draw or write. It was often how I expressed myself in lieu of verbalizing my emotions.
As a Mama these days, I rarely get the same luxurious quiet time. However, a perfectly acceptable trade-off is that my darling toddler is often a pint-sized muse. He’s also a little introvert, and like most toddlers, he is scathingly honest and filled to the brim with sass.
In my adult life, I am finally comfortable and accepting of who I am. And it seems like this society is starting to get it–that the qualities an introvert possesses are just as valuable and essential as the qualities of an extrovert. BUT, it seems we still gotta lotta work to do before people stop asking us why we are “so quiet”.
So here’s a shout out to all the weird loners like me. We need love and attention, too. For me, I appreciate love that comes in the form of a smidge touchy-feely, with a good helping of space and solitude.

Since I’m not much for human contact, I talk about the amusing story behind each of my designs here on my blog.
